Chrysalis by K Breedlove
“Chrysalis” embraces change, purges a past reality, and finds hope in renewal.
Within this vulnerable collection of work, the artist digests the self, sexuality, “hauntings” and raw emotion. Fusing spellwork with painting, the Chrysalis is a communion for all versions of self, becoming a sacred space of transformation.
OPENING – February 23rd 6-9pm
Profile – K Breedlove is a 22-year-old emerging artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. Growing up in a creative environment, KB has always found solace in self-expression, whether through visual art, writing, or performance. Their artistic process is spontaneous, prolific, and somewhat erratic...often working on at least three pieces at a time.
KB also has a passion for magazine creation, curating an eclectic mix of visual artists and poets into book format. Recently, they've completed a collaborative endeavor, Rosary Magazine, which they are excited to publish soon.
KB's path has recently found intersection with education through the “Ramp-up” teaching artist fellowship program through Assemble. This journey has not only enhanced their personal creativity, but also provided an opportunity to become more involved with the Pittsburgh community and share their unique perspective with others. Additionally, they are a Marketer at Wick Monet.
When they’re not working on various creative projects, KB enjoys spending time in nature, embracing magic, and connecting with their lovely friends.
